Milonga - The social gathering

Argentine Tango is danced at a Milonga (a Tango Dance Party).  At the Milonga, the music is typically played in sets of 3 to 4 songs call a Tanda. Within the Tanda, the songs are of the same type, orchestra, tempo, even of the same time period.  It is traditional to dance every song within the Tanda with the same dance partner and then switch partners after the Tanda. Each Tanda is separated by what's called a Cortina, which is a short snippet of music or other sound.

In Prescott we have a monthly Milonga on the last Sunday afternoon of the Month. Check out our Events Calendar for the next Milonga.  If we  have a visiting Teacher then the Milonga would be on a Saturday Evening.  Join us for the next Milonga.
