Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango is a social partner dance with many variations. It can be very slow and subtle. It can be fast and athletic. There are many styles of the dance. It is improvisational meaning that there is alot of interaction and listening between the dance partners.  Although it originated in Argentina, it is danced through out the world in dance studios, clubs, dance halls and people's homes.

Unlike other dances, there are no set "steps" and sequences although there is a vocabulary of dance movements that are characteristic of Argentine Tango. The dance involves a subtle connection between the dance partners, the music and the others dancing in the shared space.

At Prescott Tango, you will learn about this fun and intrigueing dance form. In weekly lessons, Delisa and Earl guides the community on how to dance to Argentine Tango music and also how it can be transfered to many types of music including blues, jazz, waltz, groove among others.
